Not bad looking this woman. Hmm, I like her smile.

 Dad is totally crazy for me. Yesterday we lay on the bed and spoke for a long time.

Wir sind jetzt schon seit einer Woche zu Hause. Es ist toll. Gut auch das Mama und Papa den ganzen Tag Zeit fuer mich haben.

We've been home for a week now and it's a blast. Everybody has time on hands for me and I'm getting full attention.

 Dafuer sind dann jedoch alle anderen muede, wenn ich mich entscheide zu schlafen. Onkel Tobi hat jedoch keinen Grund, da er sich noch nicht an mir verausgabt hat.

Everybody else also needs to rest after I decide to go to sleep. Actually uncle Tobi should not be all too tired. He has not been changing diapers and feeding me much so far.

Mama hat da schon eher Grund muede zu sein. Sie kuemmert sich rund um die Uhr um mich. Papa auch, aber der scheint keinen Schlaf zu brauchen.

Mom's rather entitled to a good rest. She's taking care of me 'round the clock. Daddy too but he is energized and does not seem to need sleep.

9 days old

I don't have so many waking hours as I am only 9 days old, so Mummy and Papa get quite excited whenever I open my eyes to look around. They are fascinated by my eyes somehow.  I can't see much yet, so I have to use my nose. Papa smells okay, but his hairy chest tickles me.

Mummy smells like breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Today my cord fell off.  Mummy found it and put it in a red packet with my hospital tag and Papa put it in the safe.  He said he would give it to me when I grow up.

Eigentlich schlafe ich ja zur Zeit noch im Zimmer von Mama und Papa. Heute Morgen habe ich aber mal in meinem eigenen Bett gelegen. Nicht schlecht, besonders wegen des Mobiles. Ich denke naechste Woche ziehe ich komplett rueber.

I'm still sleeping in mom's and dad's room. It makes them feel safer and it's also easier to feed me at night. Anyway, this morning I tested my own bed. It's not bad at all. I especially like the mobile which plays music and has light effects. I reckon I can move over next week.

Ab ist das Ding - Zwischenbilanz

Heute Nacht bin ich wach geworden und plötzlich war meine Nabelschnur ab. Endlich! Das Ding hat ein wenig genervt. So sehr die Nabelschnur auch Sinn gemacht hat als ich noch in Mama's 5* Hotel war, hatte die Schnur seit letzter Woche echt gar keine Funktion mehr gehabt.

Gestern bin ich eine Woche alt geworden. Meine Bilanz: Alles super. Macht echt Laune hier und man muss sich ausser um essen, Windeln voll machen und schlafen um nicht viel kümmern. Das Einzige was mit bisher nicht so gefällt ist das morgendliche Bad. Naja, vielleicht wird ja auch das ohne Nabelschnur jetzt einfacher.

I am 4 days old

I have had such a busy week ever since I came into Mummy and Papa's world. Everybody wants to see me!

Here is my Grandma and my Auntie Valerie at the hospital on my second day of life.

Uncle Tobi also came to see me every day.

And here is Mummy's friend Auntie Bernice and my playmate, Esther with her Daddy.

That's Auntie Lara, she brought lots of cool presents for me!

Even the people from Mummy's office came to say hello, but I was sleeping, so I could not really say hi.

But I think Papa is the most crazy about me. It's okay because I'm mad about him too.

The greatest day in our lives - Here I am

I made my appearance today. Mommy is probably gonna write about it in more length and depth when she is back home. All I can say, I was taken out of the tummy and I'm happy they decided to do so. Well not that I have done much since except looking cute, sleeping and eating. But mom and dad seem to love me a lot. I like it.

Hier bin ich. Mama wird wahrscheinlich einiges mehr zu sagen haben wenn sie wieder zu Hause ist. Alles was ich weiss ist, dass ich aus dem Bauch 'herausgeholt' wurde. Ich bin froh darueber. Viel ausser suess aussehen, essen und schlafen habe ich noch nicht gemacht. Aber Mama und Papa scheinen mich ganz doll lieb zu haben. Das ist toll.

I was born at 14:33ish by c-section. It was a good decision to do so. I'll let numbers speak and convince you: 4,280 grams and 55 cm.

Ich wurde um etwa 14:33 Uhr durch einen Kaiserschnitt (gute Entscheidung) geboren. Fuer alles andere lasse ich Zahlen sprechen: 4.280 Gramm und 55 Centimeter.

My other friend Esther

This is my other new friend, Esther John.  She is half like me, her Mummy is Chinese and her Daddy is Indian.  She's very cute no?  She is 11 months old and is learning to walk.  That's a lot further along than me. She can stand by herself and she likes playing with water.

Her mummy is friends with my mummy.  They are all asking me to come out soon so Esther can come and visit me.  I'm a bit afraid of her....she's so big!

Have I introduced you to my parents?

That's Mummy looking a little fatter than usual, but it's because I am inside her tummy. With her is Papa who is nagging me every day to come out and meet them.

Mummy has asked Grandpa to look for a few dates after 19 May to take me out.  She said if I don't come out by 19 May, she is asking the Doctor to cut her open and pluck me out!

Yikes!

I think I shall get my stuff ready for ejection. I don't like the sound of what Mummy has planned for me.

3.2 kg sind bereit ins Kinderzimmer einzuziehen

Hallo Leute,

Gestern sind wir dem grossen Tag wieder einen Schritt oder genauer gesagt zwei Schritte naeher gekommen.

Ich war mit Mama und Papa im Krankenhaus. Nachdem die mal wieder mein Gesicht sehen wollten (ich habe mich natuerlich versteckt), wurde ich dann vermessen. Als der Onkel Doc meinen Kopf- und Bauchumfang gemessen hat, fing er plaetzlich an zu lachen. Er guckte Mama an und meinte dass ich recht gross und kraeftig sein werde. Naja, ist ja alles relativ. Gestern war ich wohl so etwa 3.2 kg schwer. Ich denke ich bleibe noch so 'ne Woche oder zwei in meinem Wassersack um das ein oder andere Gramm drauf zu packen. 3.5 kg sollte ich schon wiegen, bevor ich mich hier raus traue. Ach ja, neben der normalen Untersuchung haben sie Mom noch in den Geburtsraum gelegt, um meinen Herzschlag ueber einen Zeitraum von 45 Minuten zu ueberwachen. (Papa sagt der Ledersessel sei bequem.) Mein Herz pocht kontstant mit 125-135 Schlaegen pro Minute. Alles super sagt der Doktor.

Schritt 2: Die Gardinen fuer mein Kinderzimmer sind gekommen. Damit ist jetz alles fertig. Mein Bett ist aufgebaut, ich habe ein Mobile mit Musik und Lichtspiel, mein Kinderwagen und Autositz stehen bereit, all meine Anziehsachen sind gewaschen, Windeln gekauft, etc. Papa hat Mama gerade eine Email mit letzten Anweisungen geschickt. Der arme Kerl muss sich echt um alles kuemmern. Er hat sogar meine Krankenhaustasche gepackt. Es ist gut wen zu haben, der den Laden im Griff hat.

I am over 3kg and 38 weeks old - Doc says I am ready to debut in the next week or two! Papa is asking me every day when I am coming, he told me he got everything ready for me as you can see from above.  I don't know yet if I am ready to leave. Doc said my head is right at Mummy's cervix and it's firmly closed, the whole place started to squeeze me a few days later and Mummy was groaning and complaining of back ache. But she told me not to do anything till after 7 May which is when she is going to "vote". I have no idea what that is, but it seems really important that I NOT come out before Mummy goes to "vote". Okay then, I shall try to stay in here for a few more days!
